Woodpecker apartments

Last evening when I was out listening for owls I was able to witness an amazing natural event. I saw where woodpeckers stay during the night. I knew already that they use cavities they have built some time earlier, but I didn’t know that as much as four woodpeckers can use the same tree. That’s like a real apartment building for woodpeckers. All the inhabitants arrived within half an hour.
