Towards a bright future

At least I hope so! My owl season is drawing near to a conclusion – the nestlings have left the nest. They are really enjoying jumping around and climbing trees instead of sitting in the nest for the whole day. The parents however and myself still have plenty of worrying to do, because until the young learn to fly, they will have to face many different dangers each day. For an example on the very first day out of the nest a pine marten came by, just twenty meters from an owlet sitting on the ground. Seeing danger the female made a squeaking noise I ad never heard before. Probably telling its young to keep very still and quiet.
