Over
Fledged at last! Another brood of owlets have fledged and left their homes in search of their own territory. This year, only one pair returned to their usual hunting area. The other two have been forced to search for new pastures as the realestate market is in full groove and takes up precious nesting territory. The pair that decided to return, made a fine family. With two powerful adults feeding the mouths of at least four nestlings. It was hard work feeding those little beaks that screamed non-stop from sunset to sunrise. Now, the peeping of hungry owlets has been replaced by the stridulation of grasshoppers. The parents may now resume their normal rhythm and start hunting when darkness falls. This picture will remind me the moment of no more responsibilities and being able to fly alone into the sunset. My fingers are crossed for next year..
