Pygmy owl – golden guy

The smallest owl in Estonia in golden evening light. It’s 14 years from my first encounter with a pygmy owl, but this week I got a chance to spend three hours with this species. The cold temperatures of the day which dropped from -6 C to -10 when it was getting dark meant that the small ball of feathers had to hunt all day to keep the energy level on the positive side.
