Sadly the screws had come loose in this birds head, because he considered me a threat to whom he had to show his territorial rights. This sort of thing happens every spring somewhere in Estonia. It is usually due to habitat loss, but this was not the case here. I couldnt work out the reasons. Maybe the bird just struggled to cope with the hormonal rush of the lekking period.
